Invitation to participate in International Standards Olympiad

Rwanda Standards Board calls secondary schools students to participate in this year’s International Standards Olympiad.

The Rwanda Standards Board (RSB) is a public institution mandated to undertake all activities related to research, development, awareness and publish standards. Every year, Rwanda through RSB participate in the International Standards Olympiad being organized by Korean Agency for Technology and Standards (KATS) whose aim is to facilitate an understanding the application of science and technologyin the area of Standardization among the young students from middle (O-Level) and high (A-level) school categories aged between 13-15 and 16-18 years old respectively across the world.

This competition is designed to provide opportunities for students to demonstrate their knowledge and to share new ideas on standards and technology; the participants will have also a great opportunity to demonstrate their creativity, increase problem-solving skills and learn how to cooperate through team based competitive standardization activities.

This year, KATS in partnership with ISO (International Organization for Standardization) and IEC (International Electrotechnical Commission) organized this competition which will be conducted online through video conferencing and will take place from 23rdto 25thAugust 2022.

It is in this context that Rwanda Standards Board (RSB) invites all competent students willing to compete at National level and who meet the requirements to submit their application using this link: letter than 25thJune 2022. The dates for written tests and oral interview will be communicated as soon as all successful shortlisted candidates are published.
